Constitution of the CWAA
1. The Association shall be a non party political, non-sectarian and a not-for-profit organisation.
2. The Association shall seek Vice-Regal patronage.
3. A National Conference of Member Associations shall be held triennially.
4. The National Conference shall be the decision making body of The Association.
5. The National President shall approach the Federal Government as directed by a majority of Member Associations on matters of policy.
6. The National President shall consult the Member Associations on matters for which there have been no previous directions.
7. a) The approval of at least five (5) of the Member Associations shall be required on constitutional and financial matters and matters which require national action.
b) The approval for other matters shall require a simple majority vote of Member Associations.
c) 100% approval by the Member Associations shall be required for action in circumstances deemed to be exceptional by the Member Associations.
d) The approval of at least four (4) (or a simple majority vote of member Associations) shall be required for national action to be taken on all other matters, other than those pertaining to clauses 7a, b, c, which are brought forward outside the National Conference.
8. The National President or her representative shall be entitled to represent The Association at National and International Conferences of other organisations as agreed by the Member Associations.
9. The Association shall be affiliated with the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW)
10. In the event of a delegation of The Association being deemed necessary by the Member Associations, such delegates shall be appointed by the Member Associations.
11. The leader of a delegation of The Association shall be the National President, or if she is unavailable a deputy appointed by the Member Associations, such leader shall be entitled to speak for all Member Associations if required.
12. Any delegation of The Association shall vote according to a two-thirds majority vote of Member Associations as previously determined.
13. If no delegation has been appointed to represent The Association at an ACWW Conference, the National President shall be entitled to attend speak and vote on behalf of The Association.
14. The National Office shall keep the ACWW South Pacific Area President informed on matters of concern to Member Associations.
15. The National Office shall disseminate pertinent information to Member Associations, 16, Affiliation of The Association with organisations other than ACWW shall be decided at the National Conference. |
